Gail Hudson, NBCT is a fifth-grade teacher at John R. Hummel Elementary School in Southern Nevada, where she serves as the school’s Equity and Diversity Site Liaison and Title I Site Coordinator. With over three decades in the classroom, she is also a Nationally Board Certified Teacher, the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education.
“Gail Hudson is an exception educator and leader in Nevada and we are so proud that a member of NEA of Southern Nevada (NEASN) was chosen as Nevada’s Teacher of the Year,” said Brian Rippet, President of the Nevada State Education Association.
Mrs. Hudson's well-deserved recognition comes with numerous exciting opportunities. As a member of the NEA of Southern Nevada, she is now eligible to be named National Teacher of the Year through the National Education Association (NEA). Further, she will serve as a NEA ambassador and represent the association at various educational events throughout the state. Along with her fellow Teachers of the Year from other states, she will take part in numerous professional workshops and educational events in Washington D.C., and overseas.
