This bill has already passed the Assembly 38-4 and will now move to the Senate. The bill is set to be heard May 1, 2023 at 1:00pm.
RESPEDUACT

Assembly Bill 269 is about respecting educators. The bill would remove student data from teacher evaluations, ensuring teacher evaluations are fair measures of their performance. AB469 also eliminates the requirement to develop student learning goals. Teacher evaluations should be based on instructional practice, leadership, and professional responsibilities.

Along with pay, class size, and over-testing, teacher evaluations top the list of teacher concerns in Nevada. With the mass exodus of teachers creating thousands of vacant positions and with the increasing demands and pressures of the job, now is the time to take something off of teachers' plates.
