Educators are committed to the success and well-being of our students, and we work every day to help students find their voice. There’s no more important place for student voice than in the decisions that impact their day-to-day lives. Student perspective can help inform better decision-making at school boards, while also giving students some ownership in the important decisions impacting schools—decisions like school policies, curriculum, and resource allocations.
AB316 will facilitate communication between districts and students, promote transparency, and increase civic engagement. As NSEA continues to advocate for the inclusion of educator voice on school boards, we fully support incorporation of student voice as well. We ask for your support of AB316.
