The past year, educators have chanted “Be Brave. Be Bold. New Revenue’s the Way to Go.” We have been mobilizing for new revenue as we have experienced millions in painful cuts to our schools.
As we come to the end of the 120-day Session, we still have no new revenue on the table. The approach this state has taken has resulted in Nevada being 48th in the nation in education spending and 50th overall in “Chance for Success” per the 2021 Quality Counts Report. With no new funding attached, SB543 and SB439 will not change that issue.
