“Reach for the Stars” Scholarship Program

These scholarships are being offered to Nevada public school graduates or Nevada public school employees accepted to an accredited Nevada community college, university, or career technology institution.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Nevada State Education Association’s (NSEA’s) “Reach for the Stars” Scholarship Program, in partnership with elected leaders and community members, is to seek out and recognize deserving students and public school employees across the state who wish to further their education by enrolling in post-secondary schooling or training.  The goal of this fund is to promote post-secondary training to prepare a well-educated work force that will lead to an economically diverse society in an effort to increase the standard of living for all Nevadans.

Criteria Options

I - Graduate from a Nevada public high school:

  • Official high school transcripts
  • Letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment to a licensed or accredited post-secondary institution
  • Essay (See application for details)
  • Resume and/or biography
  • Two letters of recommendation

II - Current public school employee:

  • Proof of employment in a Nevada school district
  • Letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment to a licensed or accredited post-secondary institution
  • Essay (See application for details)
  • Resume and/or biography
  • Two letters of recommendation (one letter must be provided by an NSEA member)
